BoqCalc ("we", "our", "us") operates the website boqcalc.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. Please read this policy carefully. By using BoqCalc, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name, and optionally your company name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Uploaded Documents: When you use the estimation wizard, you upload Bill of Quantities documents and optional project documentation. These files are stored securely and associated with your account.

Calculation Data: The data you enter and the estimates generated during the wizard process are stored in our database, including item details, pricing, labor, materials, and risk analysis results.

Payment Information: We use LemonSqueezy as our payment processor and merchant of record. We do not store your credit card details. LemonSqueezy handles all payment processing and is subject to their own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide, operate, and maintain our platform; process your calculations and deliver cost estimations; process credit purchases and manage your account balance; communicate with you about your account or provide support; improve our services and develop new features; comply with legal obligations.

4. AI Processing

Your uploaded documents and calculation data are processed by AI models from leading providers (Anthropic and Google) to extract items, suggest pricing, and perform risk analysis. This processing occurs in real-time during your wizard session. Your data is sent to the AI providers' APIs for processing only — it is not used to train AI models, and the AI providers do not retain your data beyond the processing session.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Supabase (database and authentication) and Supabase Storage (uploaded files), both of which use industry-standard encryption. Our application is hosted on Vercel. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) for hosting and storage; our AI providers (Anthropic and Google) for document processing and analysis; our payment processor (LemonSqueezy) for credit purchases; and as required by law or legal process.

7. Your Rights

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics cookies may be used to understand usage patterns and improve the platform.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data and calculations for as long as your account is active. Uploaded documents are stored for the duration of your account unless you delete individual calculations. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
