Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
TL;DR
Essential cookies for login and the app. Google Analytics only if you click Accept (EU/EEA). No ads, no cross-site tracking, no selling your data.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use the platform. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).
2. Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies (always active): Required for BoqCalc to function. They handle authentication (keeping you logged in), session management, language preference and security features like CSRF protection. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as the platform will not work without them.
Analytics Cookies (optional, consent required in EU/EEA): We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our platform โ which pages are visited most, how long sessions last, and where users encounter issues. In the EU/EEA analytics cookies are only set after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so before consent no analytics cookies are stored and no personal data is sent to Google. IP addresses are anonymized.
3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
BoqCalc does not use advertising cookies, re-marketing cookies, cross-site tracking or third-party marketing cookies. We do not sell cookie data to third parties and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertisements.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by services we integrate with:
Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.): Sets analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) only after you consent. Data is processed in accordance with Google's privacy policy. See policies.google.com/privacy.
Supabase: Our authentication provider sets cookies necessary for secure login and session management. These are essential cookies.
LemonSqueezy: Our payment processor may set cookies during the checkout process to process your payment securely.
Google (OAuth): If you sign in with Google, Google's authentication cookies are used during the sign-in flow.
These third-party cookies are governed by the respective providers' cookie policies.
5. Your Choices and How to Withdraw Consent
If you are in the EU/EEA you will see a cookie banner on your first visit allowing you to Accept or Reject analytics cookies. Your choice is stored locally in your browser.
To change or withdraw your consent later, clear your browser's site data for boqcalc.com (or use your browser's privacy settings to delete cookies and local storage for this site). The banner will reappear on your next visit.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, view what cookies are stored, and set preferences for specific websites. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using BoqCalc's authenticated features.
6. Cookie Duration
Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser.
Authentication cookies (Supabase): Persist for up to 7 days or until you log out.
Preference cookies (language, consent choice): Persist for up to 1 year.
Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): Persist for up to 2 years, only if you consent.
7. Legal Basis (EU/EEA Users)
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, essential cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the service you requested. Analytics cookies are set only with your prior, freely given consent, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of BoqCalc after changes constitutes acceptance.
